GREENSLEEVES is a favorite carol for every congregation, and this arrangement uses the text that covers the birth and death of Christ. The piano opens with six bars of a familiar harmonic progression pattern, and the voices and instruments follow. The easily sung key is in d minor and modulates to e minor for the third and final stanza. Arpeggiated LH patterns and colorful and rich harmonies are utilzed as the hymn develops, and the piece answers the question of "Who" this Child truly is, born for the salvation of mankind.
