To the tune of the familiar MAN OF SORROWS, this arrangement is stylistically fitting in any context. The piano opens solo in stanza one, with a slow, penetrating 2-bar melodic pattern that reappears between each stanza as transition material. The treble-clef instruments enter at the beginning of stanza two, and the bass-clef instruments bleed in halfway in. The fourth stanza is voiced differently for variety, punctuating the color of the text, and the instruments and piano crescendo with a brief two-bar majestic and uplifting key change before the fifth stanza. The arrangement concludes with a repeated 3-word declaration of the refrain: "Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, what a Savior!" The congregation will need clear gestures and text notification to follow this bold conclusion. This hymn is so glorious, and this arrangement captures the essence for the pure moment of joy for every singer and instrumentalist.
